Due to its rapid growth following the covid pandemic in 2020, 2U appointed Big Bite as its trusted technology partner to build a scalable WordPress multisite solution that can effortlessly support the digital education brand’s continued expansion.
Working closely with the 2U team for over five years – initially on migrating over 86 partner brands to the WordPress platform, closely followed by further development work to build custom features and functionality – our team have enabled 2U to empower its content creators to easily manage over 100 individual websites without switching between different platforms and processes, saving valuable time and resources.
Through a single unified WordPress theme that houses an extensive suite of custom Gutenberg blocks, 2U teams are able to easily maintain consistency across individual websites and more importantly, publish new websites faster than ever before, with an 80% reduction in the time taken. This project truly demonstrated the capabilities of WordPress and the scalability of the platform, which is why it is fast becoming the number one CMS for a growing number of enterprise organisations.
As well as streamlining overall processes and improving efficiencies across multiple websites, our team managed the integration of 2U’s inherited imagery assets and partner-related data, seamlessly migrating thousands of assets to the WordPress platform.
With Big Bite’s help, we were able to leverage the most modern WordPress technology and best practices to support more than 100 websites on an incredibly flexible custom WordPress theme.
