Debate, discussion and discovery

Following a two year hiatus from face to face events, we’re excited to be attending the PPA Festival this month after receiving a kind invitation from its organisers.

Taking place in London’s East End on 19th May, the gathering is the biggest of its kind within the UK’s publishing industry, and brings together over 500 delegates with a professional interest in magazine publishing and business media.

The one-day festival is run by the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) – which has been the voice of its sector for over 100 years – and is designed to share learnings, spark ideas, fuel growth and drive innovation. To achieve this, the event will feature talks, debates, and presentations led by a brilliant line up of over 65 speakers, which includes editors and directors from an impressive selection of magazines and media organisations such as GQ, Grazia, The New Statesman, The Economist, and the BBC. Discussed topics will cover a broad range of relevant and timely subjects including revenue diversity, monetising digital products, strategies for securing audience attention, and how to cultivate a successful company culture following the disruption of the pandemic.

With a growing number of clients within the publishing industry, we’re keen to listen and learn from the event and find new ways to overcome some of the key digital challenges that global brands and newsrooms face (some of which are highlighted in our white paper – WordPress in the newsroom: Scaling up editorial production). We’re also looking forward to meeting new contacts in person, so if you spot any of the Big Bite team at the festival, please pop over and say hello.
