It’s official! In acknowledgement of our people-first employment approach, Big Bite has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the whole of the UK.
We’re absolutely blown away to be featured not once, but twice in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023 listings, which were published by the national broadsheet this month. Celebrating some of the most inspiring and inclusive workplaces in the country, the prestigious rankings – powered by WorkL – are compiled from employee feedback across six key drivers of engagement: reward and recognition, information sharing, empowerment, pride, job satisfaction and wellbeing.
As well as naming Big Bite as one of the top 10 small organisations to work for, The Sunday Times also gave us a high commendation in its Best Place to Work for Employee Wellbeing category as a result of our 98% wellbeing engagement score.
To say we’re proud of this amazing achievement is an understatement. We’ve worked hard over the last few years – particularly throughout the pandemic – to identify and implement new initiatives that really have a positive impact on our daily lives, and empower our team to be the best it can be. In addition to offering hybrid working, increased pension contributions, flexible hours, and personal development budgets, we more recently introduced free healthy lunches provided by a local meal prep company. We also offer a wide range of wellbeing support to promote good mental health, including free counselling sessions, and we’ve waved goodbye to probation periods for new starters so everyone at Big Bite enjoys the same level of benefits and job security from day one.
As well as being over the moon to be featured, we’re also inspired by many of the other like-minded businesses named in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work lists. Brands such as Quooker, Fat Face, and Octopus Energy (which is part of the Octopus Group – a valued Big Bite client) are demonstrating the value of putting people first, which is something we’ll continue to do as we grow even further in the coming years.
