#WCEU – vemo-nos lá?

A few lucky members of the team are off to sunny Portugal next month to take part in WordCamp Europe 2022.

The three-day event, which is being held in Porto between 2 – 4 June, is an informal get together for 2,000 WordPress enthusiasts from across the continent (and beyond) and gives attendees a chance to share ideas and meet like-minded people.

Featuring 29 talks and 18 workshops, the WCEU schedule is jam-packed with sessions on a wide range of topics such as security, accessibility, podcasting, commerce, optimisation, and block building. Speakers at the event, which is the biggest of its kind in Europe, include WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg, Adam Silverstein from Google, Daisy Olsen from Automattic, and Elisabeth Kaliva from the Köln International School of Design. WordCamp Europe will also include panel discussions, side events, open networking sessions, and the day before the conference has been designated as a Contributor Day, which aims to encourage people of all skills and levels of experience to collaborate and contribute to the WordPress project.

Due to the pandemic, this will be the first WordCamp event that we’ve been able to attend in person since the 2019 WordCamp US conference in St Louis, where our work was showcased in a brilliant talk from Nick Gernert, CEO of WordPress VIP. We can’t wait to hear stories, findings, and best practice advice from other WordPress evangelists from across the globe, and catch up with new and old faces from the WordPress community at the highly anticipated afterparty. We’ll be taking plenty of pics while we’re there, so keep an eye on our social channels for snaps of the event, the beautiful city of Porto, and one or two selfies.
